On Tuesday, May 5, Lucy Marco, GRCOA Executive Director, attended “Celebrating Community Changemakers,” a reception hosted by the Brantford Community Foundation.

The afternoon offered a meaningful chance to recognize the outstanding organizations and individuals helping to strengthen our community.

The Grand River Council on Aging (GRCOA) sincerely thanks the City of Brantford for its generous operating grant. This investment helps us continue supporting older adults throughout the community.

This funding expands our ability to deliver programs, resources, and initiatives that support healthy aging, social connection, and age-friendly communities. With this support, GRCOA will continue advocating for older adults and offering opportunities that help people stay active, engaged, and supported as they age.

What’s New!

The Community at Home workshop series is designed by volunteers to encourage socialization, participation, and community connections, while creating awareness about topics and issues of interest.

Sound Advice on Hearing Health

The Grand River Council on Aging invites you to join Julia Hudson from, Canadian Hearing Services to discuss how hearing often declines gradually with age due to changes in the inner ear and prolonged exposure to noise, making it harder to follow conversations—especially in noisy environments. Learn tips on how to protect your hearing by keeping volumes low, using ear protection in loud settings, and getting regular hearing checks to catch changes early.

Wednesday, May 20 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

To register for this virtual workshop, please email admin@grcoa.ca or call 519 754-0777 ext. 439
