Community at Home Virtual Workshop Series
The Community at Home workshop series is designed by volunteers to encourage socialization, participation, and community connections, while creating awareness about topics and issues of interest.
Staying Healthy, Safe and Strong at Home
Wednesday, July 13, 2022 10:00-11:00 a.m.
The GRCOA invites you to join Alex Townsend, Safety at Home Program Coordinator with VON Brantford/Brant County, to learn about the Safety at Home program that promotes independence and mobility among older adults. The focus will be on falls prevention and increasing awareness of services and supports available to reduce the risks of falls at home.
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR ALL PROGRAMS

All workshops will be presented online and registrants will receive a Zoom link through email to access the workshop the day before the scheduled workshop.

Social Support Programs
A Friendly Voice is a great resource for seniors who may be feeling lonely or isolated. Call 1-855-892-9992 to connect toll free. Please keep in mind that A Friendly Voice is a social program, it is not a counselling service, crisis line, or referral service.
Buzz Me is a call service for seniors which offers the opportunity for engagement during social isolation. Seniors can book wellness calls from volunteers in the community by going to SKIP’s website at www.goskip.org or by calling 1-866-999-Buzz (1-866-999-2899), Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
