A few words from Mayor Kevin Davis as we celebrated October 1 as National Seniors Day:

“We take the time to recognize the efforts of organizations such as CARP and the Grand River Council on Aging in being advocates for seniors in the Brantford Brant community and beyond. Groups like these help to ensure that seniors in our community remain independent, engaged, and active. We also take the time to celebrate the profound contributions of seniors in our homes, communities and workplaces. Brantford would not be what it is without the incredible efforts of our senior community and today we give special thanks.
Thank you Councillor McCreary for helping facilitate this important flag raising today, and to Councillor Martin for also coming to share support. Happy Seniors Day to everyone in the community and take time today to share your appreciation and gratitude to the seniors in our community.
Special thanks to Lucy Marco from GRCOA and Ruby Toor from CARP for helping to make today special and a success! Grand River Council on Aging CARP

And from the County of Brant:

“We would like to thank representatives from the Grand River Council on Aging and CARP, as well as Town Crier, Larry Davis for joining us for a small ceremony to celebrate #NationalSeniorsDay.
We can all agree that aging adults bring so much knowledge and joy, not only to our own families but also to our communities, and for that we thank-you!
